Deadman Dance

The Power Trio

Genre: Alt-Rock

Bio:

Formed in 2018 in São Paulo – Brazil, the power trio Deadman Dance (Eduardo Geraissate – Violin and Vocals, Rafaela Antonelli – Drums and Henrique Codonho – Bass) is preparing to release their debut single, “Hard Times”.
Using raw, sometimes aggressive sounds with a highly distorted violin instead of a guitar, the musicians tap into stripping away what is usually expected from a power trio sound, with references influenced by grunge, stoner rock and traditional Brazilian music.

Throughout 2019, Deadman Dance has caught the attention on São Paulo’s independent scene, playing at bars such as the Underground Club, Feeling, Cerveja Azul, Augusta 339 and Porão da Cerveja. The band started off 2020 by sharing the stage with bigger bands during the “Desaforo” festival, organized by Efusiva DIY and Howlin’ Records labels at Associação Cultural Cecília.

(In)sane” is the second single from the power trio Deadman Dance. With a fairness resemblance to Queens of the Stone Age and Black Sabbath, the lyrics are about the tensioning of the various points of an individual, which are caused by external factors. It’s like a suffering déjà-vu, as it revisits situations in which the individual does not know how to act. They are every-day and real scenes, which end up having their focus and materiality lost as they are repeated, in a tension that never gets anywhere.

Currently, the band is part of the casting of labels Howlin’ Records (BR), Fuzzy Cracklins (EUA) and Oxenti Rec. (BR) and is planning to release their first EP – Ticking Clocks – produced by Alyson Borges, at Cavalo Estúdio, scheduled to be launched in the beginning of the second half of 2020.
