How did you come up with the band name ? This is how we came up with our band name. First of all, it started with the fact that our parents were both born in Romania and our dad specifically in Transylvania; He actually lived an hour away from Dracula’s Castle… Liliac, in Romanian, means “Bat” like the Vampire bat and we thought it was the perfect name for our band because of our style of music and vampire aesthetic!
Tell us about where you come from and how that reflects in the music. Well, we live in Downey, CA where James Hetfield from Metallica grew up. We would go busking every weekend on the Santa Monica Pier performing classic rock/metal songs. We would get large crowds, which gave us confidence in our music and helped us hone our craft!
Tell us about the song-writing process, how do you create your music ? Usually for us it starts out with the guitar riff from Samuel. Then from there, Abigail comes up with the drum groove. Then, our dad and Melody come up with the melody lines for the song. We write the lyrics together but the song always develops over time with arrangement, production and other elements that perfect the song to it’s completed form.
Who has influenced you the most ? Melody is a huge fan of Ronnie James Dio; she gets most of her influence from him because of his strong and powerful voice. Also, Queen was the first rock band that inspired us to listen to and learn about rock music. We also love bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Halestorm, Van Halen and so many more bands.
What was the first song you or your band ever wrote? Tell us if you performed it, trashed it, etc…. Our first original rock song we wrote and recorded was called “Fever” back in 2016. We performed it on the Santa Monica pier but we haven’t performed it since.
What song are you most connected to or proud of ? We are proud and love all the songs we write, but there are some songs that will always have a deep meaningful place in our hearts.
Do you enjoy playing live and what do you enjoy about it ? Yes, we absolutely love to play live because of that energy it gives you. The feeling of being hyped up and the adrenaline kicking in, right before getting on that stage to perform, is exhilarating. Especially when you’re in that moment, where the crowd is going wild and you’re just having so much fun rocking out!
What is next for the band ? The next step for the band is to finish our full-length album of 13 amazing original songs! We are so stoked and can’t wait to release it for the whole world to hear. Touring again is another step we look forward to achieving, because as an independent band our first tour was a huge success and we’re positive that with this new album the next tour will be successful as well.

They don’t know how much they mean to us because without them we wouldn’t be where we are today. So, we hope that we can keep growing as a band and that our fans will be there throughout our journey.
