Emerge Restless was formed in early 2010 in Virginia Beach, VA. by core members/founders: Eley Christopher (vocals) and Coy Coykendall (guitar/vocals) during the initial height of the Virginia Beach hardcore scene, and rounded out by Joey Watkinson (bassist), Richard Potts (guitar), and Vincent Kondas (drums).
Emerge Restless‘ music has been indelibly etched in the aggressive music annals by its cannon of constantly progressing, innovative, influential and intelligent songs, all of which hold true to their unwritten mandate of musical honesty, brutality, beauty, emotion and artistry; a commitment that has made them unique in their own sound of hardcore music. Their mission is to sing about the parts of life that are often difficult to speak about, rupturing taboos around mental illness and hard social topics, while always keeping their eyes trained on hope.
