Taubnernaut

Taubnernaut is an out there band that needs to be in your playlist.

Bio:

Vinny Taubner grew up in a house that supported musical exploration. His father was a record producer, and his mother was a singer. When he was 14, Vinny inherited his mother’s acoustic guitar. It only had two strings, but he began learning on it. His early exposure to the classic rock of Santana and Jimi Hendrix and jam band music like Phish and Grateful Dead influenced his desire to start a band. After a ten year hiatus, Vinny began to play guitar again in the fall of 2019.

Enter Nathan Crumpler – dynamic songwriter and accomplished guitarist and bassist. Nathan grew up listening to rap, hard rock, nu metal, and 80s metal. At 17, he started taking guitar lessons and eventually formed a one-man doom metal band, Gen Chechnya’s White Maiden. Over the years, he developed and honed his recording skills, releasing a self-titled debut and other singles.

After meeting on BandMix, Vinny and Nathan fused their styles and experiences with metal and jam bands into the psychedelic metal band, Taubnernaut. With Vinny playing guitar and Nathan at bass, their improvised jam sessions fueled their songwriting, and within six months, they finished their first album. Welcome is a high-energy and eerie portrait of experimental psychedelic metal, ranging from the space odysseys of “Deep Space” and “Spectral Gate” to the sludgy darkness of “Splintered Eyes” and bookended by two instrumental improvisational jams, “Welcome” and “Goodbye.”

Presently, the duo is working on an experimental EP and waiting anxiously for the day they can play live again.
