The band’s name, REFUGE, represents what they are all about: an escape from the inauthentic music of our times; it also acknowledges their origins as “development kids” and their drive for social consciousness.
Formed in 2016, the band debuted publicly in 2018 and has quickly excelled to become the #1 rock band in Kenya, where they’ve received a lot of press. In August 2019, REFUGE played its first international gig at the Bautz Music Festival in Germany.
